The Journal of Jewish Medical Ethics and Halacha

The Journal of Jewish Medical Ethics and Halacha, also known as JME, is an English language periodical edited by Prof. Shimon Glick, M.D. (Editor in Chief); Prof. Arthur I. Eidelman, M.D.; Rabbi David Fink, Ph.D.; and Rabbi Dr. Mordechai Halperin, M.D. and published by the Dr. Falk Schlesinger Institute for Medical-Halachic Research at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, Jerusalem.

The journal’s focus is the practice of medicine, medical ethics and their relationship to Jewish law (halacha). JME has published articles pertaining both to historical issues and contemporary controversies such as: Definition of Death, the Metzitza b'Peh Controversy, In-Vitro Fertilization, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, AIDS, Euthanasia and the Care of the Dying Patient.

Our aim is to acquaint professionals (medical practitioners, academics and rabbis) and the public with the important interaction between medicine, ethics and halacha, and to provide a forum for the interchange of ideas.

Following the success of the journal, a series of books has been published, Read More.

A subscription to this journal includes two issues.
